Meet Whale Shark!
Whale Shark is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu with a big personality and absolutely zero eyeballs (don’t worry, he doesn’t miss them!). He had chronic dry eye that was painful and stressful, so his eyes were removed — and honestly, he’s thriving now. If it wasn’t for the empty sockets, you’d never guess he’s blind because he zips around using his nose and ears like a champ.
Whale Shark is what we like to call a “grumpy little old man trapped in a young dog’s body.” He’s slow to trust, but once he decides you’re worthy, he’ll make you feel like the most important human in the world. Winning him over is half the fun — treats and food are the key to his heart (but we do watch his portions because he’d happily eat a 5-course meal if allowed).
He does well with other dogs but would prefer a home without small kids — his boundaries are firm and he likes his peace and quiet. He thinks his kitty foster brother is a toy to chase, so probably no cats unless you enjoy chaos.

Napping anywhere the sun hits
Finally trusting a human enough to ask for pets
He wears belly bands like a champ and takes Apoquel for allergies. He will need a patient, dog-savvy adopter who respects his boundaries, goes slow with introductions, and doesn’t mind letting him set the pace.
