Uranium is a cute little 7 year old Shih Tzu Maltese mix who weighs 12 pounds. He is white and silver and has been shoved down to remove matting. However, his beautiful coat will grow out soon in all its glory. Uranium does well with other dogs of all sizes, as well as cats. He is crate trained and fully housebroken. He prefers to sleep in a dog bed or on furniture if allowed. He loves to go outside and lounge in the sun. While you’re gardening, he loves to sunbathe and watch you work. Uranium also does great in a shopping cart and loves to accompany you to Lowe’s or whatever store allows pets.
It takes Uranium a bit to warm up to you, but once he does, he’s golden! He’s wary of strangers, small children and quick unexpected movements. These things may cause him to snap at someone. Children over 10 in the family would be our recommendation. If you have him groomed, please notify the groomer that he is fearful of strangers so she can take proper precautions.
Uranium walks well on a leash, but again, would not respond well to a stranger approaching and reaching down to pet him. It’s very possible he was abuse in his younger life and he feels threatened by strangers.
He is not food aggressive at all and his favorite meat is chicken! Uranium would be a wonderful companion for a calm, settled family that doesn’t have a lot of company coming in and out, and who want a loyal, sweet, furry friend.
