Please meet Dixie!
Dixie had a bit of a rough start when she came into rescue at just 10 weeks old, but you would never know it now. She is thriving and blossoming into the sweetest, happiest little girl. At only 2.8 pounds, she truly fits right in your hands — a tiny bundle of love with the cutest little brown nose you’ve ever seen!
Dixie is a total snuggle bug. She loves being close and will happily drift off to sleep in your arms if you invite her to cuddle. She’s also doing wonderfully with her routine! When she wakes up from her nap, she heads straight outside to tinkle. Then it’s time for a little bite to eat, followed by another potty break and some playful exercise in the yard.
Her favorite activities include chasing around a tiny ball (about half the size of a golf ball!) and batting around her extra-small plate toy. After a few minutes of playtime zoomies, she’s ready for her nap again. The best part? She walks right into her crate all by herself when she’s ready to rest. When she wakes up, she’ll give a few soft whines to let you know it’s time to head back outside — such a smart little girl!
She enjoys chewing on her little bone, though if you let her, she would much prefer to gently nibble on your fingers instead. Everything she does is precious. She has a way of producing smiles nonstop.
Dixie’s mama was a Chihuahua, and her dad was a Schnauzer. Given her petite size, we do not expect her to get very big. She would thrive with someone who can give her plenty of love and attention, but she would also do great in a home with another playful pup. In her current foster home, she’s already romping around confidently with two dogs weighing 15 and 20 pounds — she just doesn’t quite realize how tiny she is!
If you’re looking for a pocket-sized best friend with a huge heart, Dixie might just be your perfect match.
